Basecamp Brooklyn began with a simple mission: make it easy — and inspiring — for people to reconnect with food, nature, and community in the great outdoors. Founded by Allan and Erin, two Brooklyn adventurers who traded city life for the open road, Basecamp Brooklyn was born during their full-time travels across the country — filming outdoor cooking videos, exploring national parks, and sharing their love of adventure through food.
As the miles rolled on, the vision evolved. We didn’t just want to show the adventure — we wanted to create it for others. So we started hosting our own culinary camping weekends, where guests could gather around the fire, share meals, and experience the same joy of slowing down under the stars.
From there, the next piece fell naturally into place: our camping gear rentals. We saw how many people wanted to try camping but felt held back by the cost, the clutter, or the question of where to start. So we built a way to make getting outside simple — quality gear, ready to go, for anyone craving a taste of the BCB life.
Today, Basecamp Brooklyn brings it all together: curated campouts, easy gear rentals, and a soon-to-open Catskills cabin and group camp spots, each one designed to help you gather, explore, and savor the moments that matter most.
