I have only been on Basecamp excursions I therefore cannot speak from any other camping experiences and I consider myself lucky. The Dark Skies weekend was a triumph on many levels first because of the pleasant road conditions and travel to the destination, second was the ample accommodations, third to find by nightfall with limited light pollution at the site the Milky Way was readily visible overhead. Pitching the tent close to the bubbling brook assured that beyond the centered spirit the meditation observation we all took part in afforded me, the aquatic vibration would mellow me off to a dream state in short order.
