Mountain Cruisin’: Riding, Feasting & Firelight in the Catskills
Basecamp Brooklyn’s Mountain Cruisin’ is our annual moto camping weekend in the Catskills — where rides, community, and campfires come together. As we dream about Mountain Cruisin’ 2026, let’s look back at last year’s adventure, that brought winding roads, starry nights, and the kind of connection that only happens around the fire.
A Weekend in the Catskills
From the moment riders rolled in and set up their motocamp, the land buzzed with energy. Bikes lined the meadow, tents popped up, and conversations flowed late into the night — swapping stories about rides, adventures, movies, and music.
Friday evening began with a Mediterranean tapas spread and fall harvest mocktails featuring our homegrown apple shrub and syrup. As the fire warmed, we toasted the season and settled into a weekend of connection.
The Moments That Made It
Saturday morning, we fueled up on an NYC classic — lox, bagels, and cream cheese — with a gluten-free option of Greek yogurt with walnuts, apples, and honey. Together, the whole crew rode the scenic route to the Fährt Moto meetup, stopping by a reservoir for a photo shoot with the bikes on our way to the Catskill Brewery. We met so many incredible motorcyclists and can’t wait to see them join us again next year.
While car campers relaxed back at camp, the moto crew hit one of the curated rides, winding through covered bridges, mountain passes, and foliage-lined roads. By evening, everyone reunited around long tables for Chef Allan’s tacos: slow-roasted pork, steak, and mushroom (vegetarian) options, with grilled peppers, mango salsa, chimichurri, and corn on the cob with maple butter. Full and happy, we gathered at the fire, sipping Erin’s Harvest Cider to warm up on the chilly night.
Sunday morning closed the weekend with a lighter spread of homemade banana bread, apple-cinnamon sourdough, and fresh apple butter. With coffee in hand, we around the picnic table before heading home, carrying the glow of the weekend into fall.
